Here at Sheffield Sports Medicine we regularly use biomechanics to help improve performance by optimising joint alignment to therefore maximise force production. Biomechanics is the scientific discipline that studies mechanical parameters of human motion. In sport and day to day movement, it can help to improve performance by the means of developing a more effective movement technique. We use Slow Motion Video and photographic analysis of our patient’s movement to show how the body adapts to training over time. This can also spot mechanical faults that may cause future injury and highlight areas of weakness.
