Gary Newbould was educated at King Edward VII School, Sheffield before obtaining his Under Graduate Degree at the University of Reading, he is a Chartered Surveyor turned Sports Massage Therapist.
I have always been interested in Sport having played football for my school and University. I have for many years had an interest in martial arts; I have a black sash in kickboxing and am a 3rd Kyu at Shotokan Karate. I have also practised Judo and Japanese Jiu Jitsu. A number of years ago at a Jiu Jitsu grading I suffered a dislocation and fracture of my shoulder. I was out of action from sport for in the order of 6 months and the physiotherapy to get my range of movement and strength back was intense but I knuckled down and did the prescribed exercises and made a near 100% recovery. Since that time my interest in musculo- skeletal issues has grown.
I have completed my Level 3 and 4 training with Sports Therapy UK in Sports Massage and I am currently part way through their Level 5 Higher Diploma Course in Sports Therapy.
Particular interests of mine are football, martial arts and running.
Having previously worked with Peterborough United Football Club, Gary is currently working on a part time basis as a Soft Tissue Therapist at Lincoln City Football Club in Sky Bet Football League 2 and covers training sessions and match days.
